Birthday Wishlist

The big day for the small man is
June 18!

To celebrate, some of the stuff that Gabriel will really spin on are:
  • Safety gate
  • Bigger ride-on car
  • Large, colourful books
  • Palm-size balls
  • Good pair of shoes for going everywhere
We'll update this list as we approach the date.

My son has a natural and inherited nack for wheels. He just can't get his hands off the steering wheel of our family car and work on all the controls he can find. So, one of the best gifts for him will be one of these two toys.

Chicco Bi-Lingual Smart Driver

This wheel offers two spoken languages and counts up to ten.

John Deere Little Driver
This wheel has very realistic sounds.

For everyone's convenience, here are some wish lists that you can check out online:

Thanks for your generous support! Heh...

So that we can see this!
Lilypie 1st Birthday Ticker

Also there's a bit of Google Adsense stuff that I want to put at the sidebar... to generate loads of cash! heh.

Facial Changes In Early Months

A baby's face changes quite a bit during the baby and childhood years. I always believe that despite all that we can change (and even in this age of corrective surgery), you can identify anyone using their eyes accurately. Eyes are the window to the human soul (debatable).

When Gabriel was born, one of the most striking features that he had, and still has, is his big round eyes. Most newborns cringe, cry and sleep, which requires their eyes to be closed up, but this boy loved to observe and watch everything around him. We wondered if it was in our genes or the work of BabyPlus ("bong bong bong"), but he definitely disturbed our rest unlike most other parents have experienced. Some folks say that he seems to be absorbing and learning a lot about the world through his wide open eyes.

This is Gabriel a few days old:

One month plus:

Two months old here:

The third month:

Four and a half months big:

Big boy at five months plus:

Look at him, don't you think he's got staring eyes? Most of the time he looks like this, and we love him for this. We are blessed to have a well-behaved baby, although he may poo lots and catch a flu often. Whenever we see Gabriel after some time away from him (e.g. a day's work), his look and those eyes always bring a satisfying smile to our faces.

His eyes may be the same, but I think he has developed a less chubby face over the months. Maybe it's me, but he seems to have developed eye bags from his cheeks...

Some babies, and I think especially Asian ones, tend to have full and sharp lips. Gabriel's lips have been like this since birth, and that contributed to lots of affection from the ladies. Which is not a bad thing for a guy his age. ;)

Gabriel's hair doesn't grow very fast and full as most of his peers. I wonder if it has anything to do with our diet, especially mummy's. My own mum used to take lots of spirulina pills and chicken essence, and my younger brother turned out with a fair bit of hair and tanned body. Anyway, now Gabriel's hair has grown substantially and it always crack us up when he wakes up with his hair style much like Sonic the Hedgehog's!

One last thing: daddy and baby are wearing the same shirt in that last photo on Sunday church. Makes daddy very proud of his precious son. :)
